Summer Rewards Trip 2016

The Summer Rewards trip took place on Thursday 14th July when 165 students travelled to London to attend the Rock Assembly 2016 at Wembley Arena organised by the Transformation Trust.

The Transformation Trust is an education charity dedicated to opening the doors of opportunity to young people across the country. They do this by working with some of the most challenged schools in the country, offering their pupils opportunities and experiences that help them to develop employability skills and build their confidence.

On arrival, the students looked around a careers fair with stalls and information presented by Pret a Manger, Barclays, Co-op to name a few. After a small amount of leisure time around Wembley Arena, students were given their tickets to enter the venue to watch what was for some their very first concert.

With a line-up including artists Rebecca James, BB Diamond, Careless Sons, DJs The Dixon Brothers, Raleigh Ritchie and headliner Lethal Bizzle, students were treated to 4 hours of live music. The event was very well attended by schools across the country and the atmosphere in the Arena was amazing. Some students were able to meet the artists and get autographs after they’d performed.

On the way home all the students were treated to a KFC and a drink, and returned to City Academy Norwich still happy after a long but exciting day full of new experiences.
