Year 7 County Cup

On Wednesday 13th December, CAN Year 7 football team welcomed North Walsham High School to play in the second round of the County Cup.

North Walsham made a fast start and soon found themselves 2-0 up, with CAN reluctant to press the ball.  Leo made some great saves to keep CAN in the tie as CAN started playing like their usual selves pressing the ball with lots of energy and hitting the opposition on the counter attack.

North Walsham scored straight after the break with a terrific long range strike before Alfie bought us back into the tie, this sprung CAN into life and Jacob finished with a calm head to make it 3-2.  The game was going from end to end and Riley made some excellent saves to keep North Walsham out but eventually their winger tapped home to make it 4-2.

CAN went straight up the other end and scored through Alfie as the game continued to be in the balance.  In the last 5 minutes North Walsham scored 2 more to take a deserved 6-3 victory and proceed on to the next round.

Well done to all players from both teams for the sporting manner in which the game was played and good luck to North Walsham in the next round.

Year 7&8 Football training is on a Monday from 3.30-4.30, all students in those year groups are welcome to attend.
